Oxalates

Is this potential problem hiding in some “super foods” affecting you? Mold can contribute to the oxalate load, too. But not everyone has oxalate issues. So, how can you tell? Read here to find out:
- Oxalates and Symptoms of Oxalate Intolerance
- High and Low Oxalate Foods
- And watch these two videos for even more information about oxalates:
>>> Learn how to safely lower oxalate levels and avoid Oxalate Dumping!
Lectins

Lectins are proteins that help cells correctly recognize each other. Many plant lectins are harmless. However, some plant lectins can be triggers for mast cell activation because they mess up our own cell communication. Learn more about lectins in my post on Lectin Intolerance, including the full list of high and low lectin foods.

FODMAPs

Belly bloating, burping, and stomach pain got you down? I’ve been there. FODMAP is an acronym that stands for the different short chain carbohydrates (sugars) found in some foods that don’t completely digest and some people react to. But I’ve found things that made a big difference!
Read FODMAP Intolerance to learn why it’s a common complaint in MCAS, signs and symptoms, and find my full list of high and low FODMAP foods.
>>> Watch FODMAPS in MCAS and Histamine Intolerance
FODMAP Intolerance also usually comes with other problems like SIBO and Leaky Gut.

Discussed by Jill Carnahan, MD
Dr. Jill Carnahan, MD has some fantastic info on FODMAP Intolerance and healing your leaky gut!

You’ll also want to address SIBO if you suspect FODMAP Intolerance. Find out what it is and what I’ve found most helpful here:

Salicylates

Salicylates are part of a plant’s defense mechanism. They are processed in phase 2 of the liver. If you have Mold Toxicity, mold can hog this pathway and prevent you from metabolizing salicylates leading to an uncomfortable build up.
Learn more about salicylates, and find my list of low and high salicylate foods, here: Salicylates and Salicylate Foods – What to know when you have Mast Cell Activation Syndrome or Histamine Intolerance
